Painting, Sculpture and Digital Media
Visual Arts
Ross Clark is a successful visual artist working in paint, sculpture and digital media. He works closely with the body and notions of body image, looking at beauty and the facades we put up for the sake of society. Currently he is working on a a multimedia installation piece in collaboration with the musician and writer Christopher Pressler. The foundation of the work is Ross's interest in the male form and one of the pieces being constructed is a twice life size metal sculpture of Chris from which the music of New York composer Chester Biscardi will be playing.
Natural Forms
As an artist Ross is also iunterested in the beauty of nature - the forms and shapes that we are to busy to notice, and therefore appreciate, in our every day lives. He has commenced a series of painings in acrylic and oil that explore everything from autumnal leaves to the landscapes of the Lake District in the North of England.

Ghosts of the Future
Film and Digital Media
Ross and his burgeoning group of disabled colleagues have recently worked on a series of films entitled Ghosts of the Future. This video project, funded by the Bluecoat Gallery - Liverpool, Liverpool Capital of Culture and the Arts Council North West involved the group looking at their fantasies of a future in which disability is an accepted norm. Ross's film, Djinn was based around perceptions of disability and ideas of beauty. The films were shown at 3345 Parr Street, Liverpool, and the Alima gallery. From this starting point Ross and the group DP2 are now working on a new series of pieces around the same themes.
